John McKeon is a financial service professional dedicated to the insurance and retirement planning needs of individuals and families throughout northwest Washington.

John began his career as a Long Term Care insurance agent in 1996, and was honored with the acclaimed Agent of the Year Award for the Northwestern United States for five years running as part of the Genworth Financial organization, formerly GE Financial. Today, John has close to one thousand individual LTC insurance policyholders. Shocked by the hundreds of area residents he met with who lost significant assets during the 2001-2002 market declines, John saw a need to be able to provide investment alternatives suitable for his clients who were already retired and for those about to retire. John studied with multiple experts throughout the country, and significantly expanded his business and his services.

During this time, McKeon and Associates developed a close relationship with Multop Financial, headquartered in Bellingham, Washington, and under the direction of Phil Multop, CFP®, CPA. When the time came for John to complete his securities training and licensing for investment and portfolio management, it made sense for John to be strategically aligned with and leveraging the strengths of Multop Financial, named “One of the Top 10 Most Dependable Wealth Managers of the West” by Goldline Research for 2007. Together they offer these services through Pacific West Securities, Inc., and Pacific West Financial Consultants, Inc.

John grew up in Hawaii and graduated from the U.S. Naval Academy in Annapolis, MD, in 1988 with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Mathematics. He then graduated from Penn State in 1990 with a Master’s Degree in Nuclear Engineering. John served with distinction as a Lieutenant in the Naval Submarine Service until 1996. John lives in Arlington with his family. Professionally, he shares his time as an active member of the local Chambers of Commerce, often spearheading activities, fund-raisers and special events. On a personal note, John enjoys hiking, cycling, martial arts, and singing on the music team or serving as a greeter at his church. He also enjoys spending quality time with his family and raising beagles (more about their beagles at: http://home.earthlink.net/~twindbeagle/).
